"The Head Vent System"
Overview
The new Multiple Compartment Vent System, also known as The Head Vent System, is next-generation ventilation technology that is available for your vessel today. Noisy and ineffective inline fans are replaced by a single, remotely located blower, which evacuates the stale air from multiple compartments or rooms as needed. A single large blower can service multiple areas such as heads, galley, storage lockers, or even the bilge.
System Application
For example, if the Multiple Compartment Vent System is used to evacuate a vessel's heads, a single blower may service up to five heads at one time. When the switch in a head is turned on, the blower will automatically ramp up its speed and a damper will open up in that head in order to accommodate the increased airflow. If a second head goes into use, the system will ramp up the blower to an even higher level and open the damper to that room in order to evacuate the stale air from the space. This sequence will continue as other heads are put into use. The system is capable of ventilating all of the heads in its zone at the same time if necessary. When the switch is turned off in a particular head, the ventilation continues for a preset time in order to completely remove the stale air in that head before the damper closes and the blower reduces the airflow.
System Benefits
The Multiple Compartment Vent System is extremely quiet because the powerful blower is located remotely and cannot be heard by passengers. The system is also extremely effective and reliable and will evacuate a head or other compartment many times faster and more efficiently than typical inline vent fans. Due to the remote location of the blower and the modular nature of the control system, maintenance and servicing are easy to facilitate.
